Alice Lyons
Alice Louise Lyons, 97, of Burlington, died at 7:35 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Great River Medical Center Klein Unit.

Born Feb. 2, 1910, in Blandinsville, Ill., she was the daughter of William and Permelia Davis Miller. On July 3, 1930, she married Charles E. Lyons in Burlington. He died Jan. 12, 1985.

Mrs. Lyons worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and in the pediatric department of the former Mercy Hospital in Burlington. She was a member of First United Church of Christ and Quilters of the Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Lawsen of Pine, Ariz., Roberta Martindale of Waukee and Janet Stone of Three Rivers, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one grandchild.

Visitation with family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel.

A memorial service for Mrs. Lyons will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington with the Revs. Richard Martindale and Rick Martindale officiating. Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville, Ill.

A memorial has been established for the Klein Activity Center.
