Services to be Held Sunday Afternoon For Former Shops Employe

Nathaniel Colton, 72, of 1903 Madison avenue, former Burlington Route shops employe here, died at his home late Friday after an extended illness.

Nathaniel Colton, son of Elmira Brockway and Samuel Hart Colton was born Nov. 10, 1863 in Lee County. Nov. 13, 1889, he was married to Ida M. McKinney at Pleasant Grove, Ia.

The first 26 years of his life were spent in the vicinity of New London and the last 20 in Burlington and West Burlington. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are his widow; four children, Joe of New London, George C. and Mrs. Ursa Hornung of Burlington, and Ralph Colton of Fort Bliss, Tex. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and a great-grandson. Two children Guy and Minnie, preceded him in death.

The body was taken to the Elliot Funeral Residence in New London, and will be returned to the home here late late today.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the Church of Christ in New London and burial will be in Burge Cemetery.
