MRS. MECKLENBURG FUNERAL TUESDAY
Carrie Iserman Mecklenburg, daughter of Frederick and Maria Iserman, died at the home of her son, Richard, in Morning Sun, Iowa at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 1950, following a year’s illness.

She was born on May 25, 1876 near Prairie Grove in Flint River township, Des Moines County, Iowa . On May 30, 1900, she was married to Adolph Mecklenburg and resided on north hill in Burlington, Iowa for nine years. In 1909 the family moved to Morning Sun where she made her home until the time of her death.

Survivors are her three sons: George A. Mecklenburg, Denmark, Iowa; Richard R. Mecklenburg, Morning Sun and J. Orval Mecklenburg, Wapello. Two brothers, Henry Iserman of Lisbon, N.D., and Fred Iserman of Mt. Pleasant also survive as do four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Adolph, and two brothers, William and John Iserman.

Carrie Mecklenburg will long be remembered by her large circle of friends for her kindness to the aged and sick in the community whom she visited so faithfully. She was a loyal member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morning Sun.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Morning Sun Presbyterian Church after a brief service at the home of Richard Mecklenburg. Rev. O. L. Byrns officiated. Paul Pickett, accompanied on the electric organ by Mrs. Eleanor Mehaffy, sang "The Lord’s Prayer," and "Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were Ralph and Elmer Flachman, Adolph Boysen, Walter Iserman, Sam McKelvey and Junior Coon. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Marjorie Allen and Mrs. Frances Iserman. Burial was in Prairie Grove cemetery.
