Elmer R. Leedham

NEW LONDON - Elmer R. Leedham, 71m life resident; former mayor and retired New London businessman, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Burlington Memorial hospital.

He was born Feb. 10, 1903, at New London, the son of Ira and Jennie Warren Leedham. He married Vera Walker June 21, 1927, at New London, Mr. Leedham attended Iowa Wesleyan college, Mt. Pleasant; and Monmouth college, Monmouth, Ill. He served as New London mayor for 13 years and operated Pan-Co Vesta Cleaners for many years.

He was a member of the United Methodist church and the Elks lodge in Burlington, and was on the New London State bank board.
