Dora Brandt

Dora "Dorothy" Brandt, 90, of St. Francis Care Center, Burlington, formerly of West Burlington, died at 1014 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born March 18, 1907, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Bernard Herman and Cecelia Foecke Brandt.

Miss Brandt was a 1932 graduate of Fort Madison High School, Fort Madison, and Palmer College of Chiropractic Medicine of Davenport in 1934. She was a chiropractor and massage therapist for 57 years in Cincinnati.

She was a member of St. George Catholic Church of Cincinnati, and attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Burlington.

Survivors include two sisters, Nora Schrader of Burlington and Flora Bock of Popusky, Minn.; one brother, Garrett Brandt of Ovid, Colo.; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 630 to 8 p.m., and a Christian wake at 7 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Miss Brandt will be at 130 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Sterling officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Fort Madison.

A memorial has been established to St. Francis Care Center.
