Thomas Foster Walker, 81, of New London, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born July 27, 1924, in Danville, he was the son of Walter B. and Isabelle Foster Walker. On Sept. 26, 1954, he married Betty J. McDowell in New London.

He worked for many years at Danville Elevator and Raider's PreCast in West Burlington. He was a member of New London United Methodist Church. A collector of trains and antique engines, he enjoyed participating in Old Threshers events in Mount Pleasant. He held membership in the New London Masonic Lodge AF&AM 28 and New London Chapter 440 O.E.F.

Survivors include his wife; one sister, Helen Dunn of Aledo, Ill.; one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel in New London, with family receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Latta officiating. Masonic services will be offered. Interment will be in Jaggar Cemetery in Danville.

A memorial has been established to New London Fire and Rescue.
