The Woodburn (IA) RecordA JACKSON TOWNSHIP WEDDING
One of the prettiest home weddings of the season occurred at six o'clock Wednesday evening, December 21, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Marquis, when their charming daughter, Blanche C., was united in marriage to Mr. Wm. S Dowell in the presence of about fifty relatives and friends. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H.A. Hayes pastor of the United Brethren church.
The bride was beautifully dressed in white silk mull, trimmed in silk ruching. After congratulations an elaborate supper was prepared by Mrs. Sanders of Osceola.
Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Clark, uncle and aunt of the groom and with whom he has made his home for years are entertaining the bride and groom today. Saturday the happy young couple will go to Burlington, where relatives of the groom reside.
Both bride and groom are among our most popular young people and the Record congratulates and wishes them a life of happiness and prosperity. - Woodburn Record.
NOTE: William Sherman Dowell was son of Richard Dowell/Martha Cocayne Dowell of Des Moines County, Iowa
