Suicide at Manchester.
Manchester, Ia. Oct. 14.—J. D. Kennedy. an old resident of this city and well known thoroughout eastern Iowa, committed suicide at 9 o’clock to-night by hanging himself in his barn with a rope. He was quite aged and had been ill for the past two or three years, which coupled with the loss of a large sum of money in a world’s fair venture, probably led him to commit the rash act. He was a very highly respected citizen, and his sad demise caused a sensation among his many friends.
