Mildred Arlene McGraw Meyers was born April 7, 1927, on a farm in rural Masonville, to Edwin McGraw and Emma Bebee McGraw, the fourth of nine children. Arlene attended rural schools in Delaware County and Buchanan County. She later lived in Independence, Waterloo, Fort Dodge and Moorland. Upon retirement, she moved to the La Crosse, Wis. area. She married Jim Rauch at the Catholic church at Monti. No children were born to this union and they were later divorced. She married Henry “Hank” Meyers in August of 1970. Arlene spent the last years of her life in a nursing home in La Crosse, Wis.

She is survived by two sisters, Joan (Vernon) Gudenkauf, of Independence and Ruth (Joe) Falconer, of Manchester, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by four brothers: Raymond McGraw, John Dennis McGraw, Bob McGraw and Bill McGraw; and two sisters, Rosemary Ryan and Patricia Winchester.

Arlene loved to quilt, making and donating several to her church for raffles.

A celebration of her life is planned when it is safe for people to gather. The Dickinson Family Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
