Rev. Geo. W. Brindell, pastor of the Lyons M. E. church, died at 12:20 this afternoon, at his residence. The well-known divine had been long a sufferer from an ulceration of the stomach. Last Sunday he filled his pulpit in the morning, and had intended to officiate in the evening, but was unable to do so. The deceased came to the Lyons church in October, 1895, and was reappointed last year. He leaves a wife and a son who lives in Dakota.
Old-timers will remember Mr. Brindell as pastor of the Methodist church more than a quarter of a century ago— a genial, cultured gentleman, he held during his life several of the best charges in U. I. Conference.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Feb. 22, 1831 and died April 14, 1897. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, IA.
