An Aged Farmer is Drowned.
Manchester, March 31.—William Higman, an aged farmer, living about five miles northeast of Manchester, committed suicide Monday afternoon, by drowning himself in a small creek, while despondent. It is probable that temporary insanity was the cause of the rash deed. He had been despondent for several weeks and threats and one attempt at self destruction were made by him a few days ago.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 2, 1814 and died March 29, 1897. He is buried in Rock Prairie Cemetery.
