Ronald B. Salow, Sr. (1950-2020)

Ronald Benjamin Salow, Sr., 70, of Manchester, Iowa, went to join his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center in Dubuque. He was born on March 23, 1950, in Manchester, the son of Donald and Irene (Pasker) Salow. Ron was raised and educated in the Edgewood area and was a 1968 graduate of Edgewood-Colesburg High School. Ron then served honorably in the United States Navy for four years.

On August 8, 1970, Ron was united in marriage to Teresa “Teri” Mott at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Five children were born to this union. The family resided in Manchester. Ron worked as a plumber for Bushnell Heating and Plumbing. He then worked as an electrician for Cook Electric. Later, Ron began farming north of Manchester and in 1998, the family moved onto the Salow Family Farm. He and Teri recently retired from farming and moved back to Manchester.

Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also liked to watch football. He enjoyed showing cattle. Ron liked to join his friends for coffee in the morning. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Teresa Salow of Manchester; four children, Ronald Steven (Michelle) Salow of Cedar Rapids, Randall Shane Salow of Cedar Rapids, Joelle Marie (Craig Burns) Salow of Hanover, Illinois, and Jenna Irene Salow of Manchester; three grandchildren, Raymond Salow, Bailey Seegers of Cedar Falls, and Alexander Pegum of Garnavillo; his parents, Donald and Irene Salow of Manchester; four siblings, Dennis (Vicky)) Salow of Colesburg, Janet (Jim) Diers of Colesburg, Deb (Terry) Koelker of Manchester, and Linda (Dale) Hermsen of Dyersville; and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Michelle Salow in infancy; and his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Larrine Mott.

Due to COVID-19 concerns and the governor’s proclamation, masks are required at the funeral home and the church.
