Death of Mr. George Sanner.
Mr. George Sanner died, Saturday, November 1, at his home six miles south of Delhi, after an illness of several months. The deceased was a native of Germany, born October 4, 1819. His parents emigrated to this county and settled at Erie, Pa., when he was twelve years old, and there spent his boyhood days.
September 30, 1855, he was married to Miss Frances Willing. They lived in Erie for several years, after which they moved to Union township where they have lived to the present time. Ten children were born to this union, which are as follows; May Elizabeth, eldest daughter who died at the age of 24 years., Mrs. M. F. Knelb, who resides in Erie, Pa., Mrs. E. Lux, who resides in Hopkinton, C. F. Sanner, who died in infancy, H. C. Sanner of Nebraska, G. A. Sanner, who died in Nebraska, age 28, Mrs. S. E. Reles who resides at home, Mrs. M. Greuler, of Dubuque, J. T. Sanner of Farley.
Mr. Sanner was a man of generous impulse, a kind disposition and a pleasant word for all. For these and may virtues he will long be remembered. The funeral services were held in the church at Delhi Monday forenoon conducted by Rev. Father O'Mara. The services were very impressive and the house was filled with sympathizing friends and neighbors, a number being present from Earlville, Hopkinton and Ryan. He was a very kind husband and a loving father.
