Steven Ellis Wichman, 65, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in Freeport, Illinois. He was born on April 8, 1954, in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Clark and Barbara (Smith) Wichman. Steve graduated from Le-Win High School in 1972. In his youth he was active in the 4-H and FFA, where he showed the Grand Champion Scramble Steer in 1971.
Steve married Lynn Ann (Walters) Wichman on April 26, 2003, at the Little Brown Church, in Nashua, Iowa. He was born, raised, and worked on the Wichman Family Dairy Farm, near Lena, Illinois, from 1954 to 1996. Steve went to work for the Canadian National Railroad for 20 more years.
His hobbies included being a lifelong farmer, if only a hobby farmer after he moved to Iowa. Steve loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending family gatherings. Working on antique tractors was a favorite past time. Steve enjoyed working on projects, fabricating needed parts.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Ann (Walters) Wichman of Manchester,Iowa; his four sons, Jeremy (Alice) Wichman of Loves Park, Illinois, Doug Wichman of Creswell, Oregon, Adam (Ashley) Wichman of Ridott, Illinois, and Matthew Wichman of Manchester, Iowa; his eight grandchildren, Tyler, Zach, Nathan, Cierra, Tucker, Levi, Raylee, and Sylias; and his four sisters, Linda (Timothy) Quinn, Cindy (Jeffrey) Smith, Vicky (Ronald) Watson, and Elaine (Wayne) Gift, all of Lena, Illinois.
Steve was preceded by his parents, Clark and Barb Wichman; his father in-law, Martin E. Walters; and a brother in-law, Todd Walters.
Steve was always a generous man and continued so after death by being an organ donor.

Funeral service: 12:00 p.m., Noon, on Monday, February 24, 2020, at the Cornerstone Church 18141 222nd Street, Manchester, Iowa.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 23, 2020, at the Evangelical Free Church in Lena, Illinois; and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Cornerstone Church on Monday. Pastor Joe Camp will officiate the service.
