Leonard Henry Woeste, was born near Colesburg, Iowa Nov. 20, 1892. His parents in his early youth dedicated him to God in baptism and later he received Christina instruction and was taught the vital truths the Bible teaches us. In 1906 he was taken into membership of the Zion M.E. church, the church-home of his parents and brothers. He not only appeared so, but proved to be a very steady and good boy. He regularly attended Sunday school and church services. It was during his early young manhood when he decided for Christ and fully surrendered his life to God, and therefore enjoyed Christianity.

He as married to Myrtle M. Dodge on March 28, 1918. One child was born to them, now 2 months of age. Being blessed with good health, strength and vigor he found great pleasure in work and aimed to succeed.

Last Saturday he finished planting his corn, though he had not felt well. Then inflammatory rheumatism set in, which on the fourth day affected his heart action and ended his life. On Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 1921, according to our judgment 28 years, 6 months and 5 days is altogether too soon to leave life's scenes here below, but God knows best. A hard blow the cold hand of death has inflicted here, but we will not murmur nor fear. we are the Lord's.

He is survived by his dear companion for life and baby daughter; his father and mother, and four brothers, also many distant relatives. May God richly comfort the bereaved. Funeral services were held Saturday from the M.E. church at Colesburg, the Revs. Loemker and Lemen officiating, after which the body was laid to rest in the Oak Hill cemetery.
