On Monday afternoon D. B. Allen, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. S. Hart, in Cedar Rapids. The funeral will be held in the Congregational church in this city at 2 o'clock this (Wednesday) afternoon, under the auspices of Manchester Lodge, A F. and A. M. Rev J. F. Moore will preach the funeral sermon.

The deceased was born at Vernon, Oneida county, New York, on March 1, 1834, and was married to Miss Malinda Reed on March 5, 1856 at Chatham, Columbia county, New York. They lived on a farm and in Albany until the summer of 1869, when they moved to Illinois, settling at Atkinson, Where they remained for six years and then came to Manchester in 1875, where they have since resided.

Mr. Allen was for many years city Marshall of Manchester and was a capable and efficient officer.

Before leaving New York the deceased became a member of the Masonic order, he was also a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Edgar E. Giles of Kansas City and Mrs. A. S. Hart of Cedar Rapids,

The deceased will long be remembered as a good citizen, an accomodating neighbor and a kind and indulgent husband and father.
