George Dunham Barrett, the fifteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Barrett of Vermillion, South Dakota, died at Silver City, New Mexico, where he had gone with his father on account of their being advised by physicians that a change of climate would be beneficial. His death was sudden and unexpected, as it was supposed that he was improving nicely when word was received of his serious condition.

Mrs. C. H. Barrett had been visiting in Manchester for several days and expected to return to Silver City in a short time. Mrs. Barrett and her brother, Geo W. Dunham of this city, left for that place Thursday. The remains were brought here Sunday for interment.

George Barrett had been in New Mexico since the first of June. He was the fourth child of which death has deprived Mr. and Mrs. Barrett. Their friends here deeply sympathize with them in their last bereavement.

Manchester Democrat, Manchester, Iowa September 1, 1909
