The death of Matthew Haran occurred at his home on West Marion, Wednesday evening, August 25, 1909, after an extended illness and confinement of several months. Mr. Haran was born in County Mayo, Ireland, coming to America about forty years ago. During the past twenty years he has been a resident of Manchester with the exception of several years spent in Nebraska.

He leaves to mourn his death a wife, a brother, John Haran of Alabama, and two sisters, Mrs. Celia Gillispie of County Mayo, Ireland and Mrs. Mary Ryan of Cascade, Iowa

The funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Thursday morning at nine o’clock with Rev. Father J. J. Collins officiating. The remains were taken to Masonville for interment.
