Mrs. Frank Sprague died at her home in Cherokee, Iowa last Monday evening after an extended illness of spinal disease. Loretta Griggs was born in Hazel Green Tw3onship, Delaware County, Iowa August 21, 1873, and was in her thirty-eighth year. In 1895 she removed to Ryan with her parents, where she made her home for some time. About two years ago she was united in marriage to Frank Sprague at Cherokee, where she lived until her death. The remains were brought to Manchester yesterday afternoon and the funeral held at the Golden Church, being conducted by Rev. Ensign of Manchester. The choir of the Methodist Church of Ryan rendered several selections. The remains were interred in the cemetery adjoining the church.
The deceased is survived by her husband, her father, and mother, four sisters and two brothers; Mrs. Charles Hodges, of Cherokee; Mrs. J. P. Smith and Mrs. S. L. (Amy) Uhl, of Ryan; Mrs. Bert Durey, of Manchester; Perry Griggs of Cedar Rapids and John Griggs of Cherokee.
