The funeral services of Mrs. J. B. Robertson, whose death was mentioned in these columns last week, was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Work, on last Friday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. C. K. Hudson, pastor of the Methodist church.
The deceased was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on December 19th, 1823, and was united in marriage to the late James B. Robertson in 1849. In 1854 they came to Iowa and settled on a homestead near Thorpe, where they resided until about 1890, when they removed to the town of Thorpe. Mr. Robertson's death occurred in 1905, and his wife has since made her home with the daughter, Mrs. Work. Mrs. Robertson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. F. H. Plank, of Neligh, Nebraska, Mrs. W. F. Merrill, of Iowa City, and Mrs. Ralph Work, of this city, and by one son John E. Robertson, of Thorpe. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. A. L. Grippin, of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In the death of Mrs. Robertson, Delaware county loses one of its pioneer and highly respected citizens. The bereaved relatives are extended the sympathy of their many friends.
