James Fickle was a member of Co. H., of the Iowa National Guard, and was on duty guarding a bridge at Madrid, and while on duty he was struck by a freight train and fatally injured. The funeral was held Tuesday at the home of his parents, Rev. A. B. Fickle and wife, of Wyoming, Iowa.
