PETERSBURG, Iowa - Ruth Bildstein, 52, of Petersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at home, following a battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, with the Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.

She was born on April 25, 1951, in Cascade, daughter of Karl and Florence (Kremer) Spoden. She graduated with Western Dubuque High School class of 1969.

She married Ed Bildstein on June 9, 1971, in Worthington. Together they farmed in the Petersburg area.

She dedicated her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Ed, of Petersburg; four daughters, Crissy (Tom) Arens, Tammy (Dan) LeGrand and Lori (fiance, Matt Digmann) Bildstein, all of Dyersville, and Jill Bildstein, of Petersburg; two sons, Chad and Todd, both of Petersburg; eight grandchildren, Jordan Bildstein, Brady, McKenzie, Sydney and Kennedy Arens, Justice Bildstein and Riley and Haley LeGrand; her parents, Karl and Florence Spoden, of Dyersville; and two brothers, Neil (Sue) Spoden, of Dyersville, and Bill (Mary Ellen) Spoden, of Worthington.
