EARLVILLE, Iowa - Harold F. Diesch, 76, of Earlville, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Manchester.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Earlville. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Carpenter-Diesch Post 436. Friends may call from 4 to 8:30 p.m. today at Clifton's Funeral Home, Earlville, and after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
He was employed at The Ertl Co. as a foreman in the foundry until his retirement.
He was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Almoral, son of Frank and Mattie (Binning) Diesch. He married Delores Schenke on Oct. 7, 1950, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.
He joined the Army Air Corps on Oct. 18, 1942, where he served as a sergeant and as an Armorer during a tour in England. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 9, 1945.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Earlville, American Legion Carpenter-Diesch Post 436, Earlville Fire Department, Earlville Community Club and Pronto Coffee Club. He was an avid bingo and card player.
Surviving are his wife, Delores; two daughters, Mari Jo and Julie, both of Earlville; a son, Francis, of Earlville, and his fiancee, Sue Bolsinger and family, Cindy, Travis and Austin, all of Guttenberg; a brother, James, of the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester; two sisters, Helen Bramley and Mary Stimson, both of Earlville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Milroy.
