DELHI, Iowa -- Nida E. Reth, 99, of Farley, formerly of Delhi, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 11, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Asbury. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Nida was born on June 25, 1912, at the family farm in Delhi, daughter of Frank and Mable (Holtzman) Jackson. She was a school teacher and then became a farm wife and mother.

She married Anton "Tony" C. Reth on Nov. 28, 1935, at the Delhi United Methodist Church. Nida and her husband farmed in the Delhi area after their marriage until Tony's death on Feb. 15, 1995.

Nida was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed dearly.

Surviving are her daughter, Janet ( Grayden) Grimm, of Farley; a son, David (Barb) Reth, of Delhi; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchild; a sister, Marilyn Overman, of Bettendorf; four stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Ellene Lois, on Aug. 31, 1955, and Joan Lorraine, on Oct. 14, 1944; and five brothers and sisters.
