EARLVILLE, Iowa - Clarence J. March, 80, of Atalissa, formerly of Earlville, died after a long illness Wednesday evening, June 11, 1997, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Atalissa, with the Rev. Karen Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville, where military rites will be accorded. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty. Services also will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Clifton Funeral Home, Earlville, where friends may call after 2 p.m.

Mr. March farmed with his wife most of his life in the Atalissa area.

He was born on June 11, 1917, in Earlville, son of Albert and Ruth (Hunt) March. He married Marie Weiss on Oct. 8, 1947, in Atalissa.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Atalissa.

Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Waneta March, of Erie, Pa., Ruth (Theodore) Gall, of Springfield, Ill., Edith (Jerry) Morris, of Peoria, Ill., and Wilma (Gary) Van Roekel, of Corsica, S.D.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Darley March, of Hopkins, Minn., and Alvin March, of Dyersville.

Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Atalissa.
