EARLVILLE, Iowa - Services for Dean A. Slick, 95, of the Guttenberg Care Center, formerly of Earlville, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Earlville United Parish. The Rev. Lynn Patrick will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Clifton Funeral Home, Earlville, and after 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Slick farmed prior to purchasing and operating a portable feed mill from 1930-67.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1901, in Almoral, son of John Austin and Gertrude (Armitage) Slick. He died Monday evening, March 25, 1996, at the care center.

He married Edith Alice Allen on Jan. 10, 1923, on Jan. 10, 1923, at her parents' home; she died on Nov. 9, 1993.

He attended Almoral School and spent his early life in that community. He enjoyed his family and visiting with friends, and fishing. He was a former member of the Delaware County Fish & Game.

Surviving are a daughter, Sue Slick, of Stevens Point, Wis., a son, Larry Slick, of Forrest Lake, Minn.; a grandson, Vaughn (Sandra) Slick; and two great-grandsons, John and Jay.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and two half sisters.
