Everett C. (Duke) Hunt, 87, of Earlville, Iowa, died Thursday, January 7, 2016.

Everett was born on September 20, 1928, to Leroy Robert and Addie (Bisgrove) Hunt, near Earlville, Iowa.

In 1949, Everett married Alice Hackbarth, at the United Congregational Church, in Earlville. They spent 45 years of their life farming, raising dairy cattle and pigs. In 1996, they moved to Earlville. Everett enjoyed tractors, and loved his best buddy, Dobie. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling to Hawaii. Everett was a hardworking man, who especially loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Earlville; nine children, David (Georgia) Hunt of Greeley, Barbara (Galen) Behrends of Marshalltown, Richard Hunt of Hopkinton, Sharon (Francis) Hoffmann of Worthington, Marilyn (David) Pilgrim of Manchester, Patricia (Mark) Thole of Manchester, Dennis (Sallie) Hunt of Epworth, Bonnie (Jeff) Dzaboff of Manchester, and Duane (Sharon) Hunt of Earlville; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Hunt of Earlville, and Vivian (Ervin) Ham of Manchester.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mildred Ortberg; a brother, Frank Hunt; a grandson, Cory Pilgrim; and a great-grandson, Jack Hansen.

Visitation will be held from 2:00- 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Clifton - Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Earlville United Parish, Earlville, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
