Mary E. Stimson, 71, of Earlville, died Monday, August 22, 2005 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester after a short illness.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, at the United Parish in Earlville by Rev. Ross Wyman. Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville and one hour before services on Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.

Mary was born on August 18, 1934 the daughter of Frank B. and Mattie (Binning) Diesch in Almoral, Iowa. She graduated from Earlville High School in 1951. On April 12, 1952, Mary was united in marriage to Charles W. Stimson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple later divorced. Mary babysat children and worked as a cook at the Earlville Elementary for twenty-six years.

Mary was a member of the United Parish and E.O.T Club in Earlville. She liked playing bingo, reading books and collecting teddy bears. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and eating at Boonie's with her friends .

Mary is survived by three children, Joan (Dave) Nason of Iowa City, Gene Stimson, and Judy (Mark) Helmrichs, both of Earlville; six grandchildren, Michelle and David Nason, Chad, Jennifer (fiancé Tim Schaul), Dustin and Jerrett Helmrichs; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Katelyn and Jackson Nason; and a sister-in-law, Delores "Dot" Diesch of Earlville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Mattie Diesch; two brothers, Jim and Harold Diesch; and two sisters, Helen Bramley and Donna Milroy.
