Wilmer Ernest Robinson, 93, of Earlville, died at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Earlville United Parish, with the Rev. Jill Mack officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home, Earlville, and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

Wilmer "Bill" was born Oct. 2, 1920, in Earlville, the son of John Charles and Estella (Hunt) Robinson. He attended school in Earlville, graduating with the Earlville High School class of 1938. On Oct. 16, 1942, he was united in marriage to Delores Hawker of Manchester and they lived in the Earlville area all of their married lives. They raised three children. Bill was engaged in farming and then farm tiling in 1966 until his retirement in 1994.

He was very active in church groups and committees at Earlville United Parish. He was known for his skills as a handyman, working on many church and family construction projects, and for his love of dancing.

Surviving him are two sons and a daughter: Richard (Debbie) Robinson of Farmington, Maine, Duane (Judy) Robinson of Earlville and Gloria (Owen) Rentschler of Mesa, Ariz, There are nine grandchildren: Mark (Deanna) Robinson of Menomonee Falls, Wis., Jeff (Kathy) Robinson of Terrace Park, Ohio, Trent (Tricia) Robinson and Troy (Jessica) Adams, both of Farmington, Maine, Christy (Darren) Matthew of Marquette, Cari (Dave) Tharp of Dubuque, Brent Robinson of Earlville, Rick (Denise) Rentschler of Tempe, Ariz., and Jon (Mackenzie) Rentschler of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Norma Baum of Staunton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Delores; his parents; two brothers, Harold and Everett; sisters-in-law, Alma Robinson and Pat Hawker; brothers-in-law, Elmer Orcutt and LaMoine (Bud) Hawker; and his special friends, Mary Ann Ledvina and Helen Heyer.
