Hopkinton, Ia. -- Services for Allen Eugene Boots, 20, of Hopkinton will be 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church here. Burial will be in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday at the Goettsch
Funeral Home here.

Mr. Boots died Thursday as a result of a gunshot wound.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale E. Boots of Hopkinton; two sisters, Becky and Nina, both at home, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Dennis of Marion, Ia.

Note: He was shot at the Hopkinton City Hall by a police officer who was cleaning his gun. The shooting was ruled to be an accident.
