Earlville, Ia. Nov 5 – Special: Dr. H. A. Tobie, 63, died at his home in Earlville early Wednesday morning, following a lingering illness.

He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Tobie, of Colesburg, where he was born Aug. 4, 1868. After graduating from the Colesburg schools, he taught school in Nebraska for several years. Afterwards he entered the State University in Iowa City and graduated from the dental college of that institution with the class of 1896. Shortly after he established a practice of his profession in Earlville, which he conducted to about ten years ago, when ill health forced his retirement. Always interested in civic affairs, he served the town of Earlville for two terms.

He was married Feb. 28, 1897 to Miss Lucetta J. McSperrin of Garber, Iowa. One daughter, Margaret Zala, was born of this union and she preceded her father in death three years ago. Besides his widow he is survived by three cousins, residing in New York, Boston, and Elgin, Nebr. An only sister, Margaret Lennie, died in young womanhood.

Funeral services will be conducted from the family residence in Earlville Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, of which Dr. Tobie was a member for the past thirty-four years.
