Joseph M. Paris, pioneer resident of the Spring Branch neighborhood, died at his home early yesterday morning, April 8, 1925, being slightly past 71 years of age. Mr. Paris had been confined to his home for weeks with heart and lung trouble, ministered to with the utmost fidelity and affection by his loving wife. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Methodist church in Delaware, Rev. F. A. Smith officiating. Burial will be made in the Delaware cemetery.

A Native of Indiana.
Mr. Paris was born at Michigantown, Clinton County, Ind., Jan. 27th, 1854, and brought to this county by his parents when but three years old. His entire life since had been spent in Iowa and most of it in this locality. For several years he was a creameryman, but farming was the real pursuit of his life. His is survived by his widow, three sons, Dean of Omaha, Neb., and Philip and Dale of Delaware, a daughter, Mrs. R. C. Harvey of Delaware, and a brother, David Paris, of Doland, S. D. Mr. Paris was a member of the I. O. O. F. and M. W. A.

The death of "Joe" Paris is a deep sorrow to his countless friends. He was one of the friendliest of men, a rare companion, the life of every gathering and hail fellow, well met with all. Few men ever lived here who counted his friends in such number, and they mourn today with the sorrowing family. This paper extends profound sympathy to the wife and children.

Later. Since the above was placed in type word has been received of the death of Mr. David Paris at Doland, S. D., on the same day as that of his brother and as a result of the same malady, and unusual and impressive coincidence.
