"OBITUARIES - Willis Knight, 85, Webster City"

"Willis Knight, 85, Webster City, died Friday, March 17, 2000 at the Southfield Care Center. Mr. Knight was cremated and a memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Willis James Knight, son of Merle and Josephine Keefe Knight, was born Oct. 4, 1914 at Fort Dodge. He received his education in the Webster City schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City. On Sept. 5, 1935 he married Gladys M. Digrenes at Dixon, Illinois. The couple resided in Webster City. He had been employed at Franklin Manufacturing (Frigidaire), owned and operated Webster City Bakery and was a lifelong photographer, preserving many of the early events of Webster City in picture. Mrs. Knight died Nov. 27, 1982. He continued to reside in Webster City.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Daine [sic, Diane] and Peter Middents of Greenwood Village, CO, Kim and Tom Downard, Boston, Massachusetts., son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Kathy Knight of Littleton, CO., seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Esther [nee Schumacher] Knight, Webster City, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Allen and
Charles Knight.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, former member of the Webster City Elks Lodge, Webster City Country Club and 500 Mile Swim Club.

Family requested memorials sent to Fuller Hall."
