Ada Louise Bissell, 87, died Friday afternoon, Aug. 11 1995, in the Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Manchester.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. in the Greeley United Methodist Church with Rev. Iola McCutcheon officiating. Burial was in Grant View Cemetery, Greeley.
She was born Jan. 8, 1908 near Strawberry Point, the daughter of William and Addie ( Hines ) Sauerbry. She was raised and educated in the area, attending rural school.
She was married to Lee Bissell on May 24, 1925 at Edgewood. Together they farmed and later moved to Greeley where Ada worked at the Creamery and Legion Club.
She was a member of the Greeley United Methodist Church and for the past several years she was active in the Greeley Senior Citizens group.
Survivors include four sons, Dale and wife Joanne of Fort Collins, Colo.; Leo Ray and wife Wanda of Cedar Rapids, Bill and wife Shirley of Lebanon, Mo., and Vance and wife Mary of Manchester; five daughters, Mrs Glen (Lois) McDowell of Manchester, Doris Malicoat of Manchester, Bonnie Hamlett of Edgewood, Mrs. Paul ( Donna Belle ) Elledge of Edgewood, and Mrs. Dale ( Pat ) Sparrgrove of Anamosa; 26 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was proceded in death by her husband on Dec. 28, 1957; three grandchildren, Ron McDowell, Terri and Steven Elledge; five brothers, Tom, Ray, Walter, Howard and Francis; and her parents.
( her husbands name was Arthur Lee Bissell, always just went by Lee )
