IN CAR CRASH

Manchester Victim to Be
Buried Saturday

Grinnell, Ia., - (U.P.) – A. E. Singer, 24 of Sioux City, Ia., a graduate chemistry student at the University of Iowa, died Thursday night from head injuries suffered in an automobile-truck collision three miles east of here.

Tarleton Briggman, 24, Manchester, senior at Grinnell College, also was killed in the crash, which occurred late Wednesday night.

Hazel Brogan, 18, of Thorton, Grinnell College sophomore, was critically injured. Three others were hurt less seriously.

Briggman’s finance, Dorothy McCutchan, 23, blind student at Iowa State Teachers College of Cedar Falls, learned of his death a few minutes after she had been awarded high scholastic honors. Briggman was partially blind.
