Zella Dighton Johnsrud, 72, of Artesia, Calif., formerly of Hopkinton and Cedar Rapids, died of cancer Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996, in her home. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Hopkinton.

Survivors include a sister, Bernice Koenighain of Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Zella was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Duane, Harley and Clark; a sister, Reva Hadorn; and a nephew, R.G. Dighton, formerly of Lisbon, Iowa.

Zella was born Aug. 9, 1924, to Roy and Eva Soesbe Dighton. She graduated from Buck Creek High School and attended Lenox College in Hopkinton. She was employed by the Cotton Shop in Cedar Rapids. She moved to California where she managed Bobbie Lynn shops for many years.
