Elmer Adams, age 70, of Hopkinton died Monday July 30, 2001 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning, August 2, 2001 at the First United Church of Hopkinton, Methodist Center. Burial will be in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 Wednesday August 1, 2001 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Hopkinton.
Surviving are a sister, Ella Knock, Hopkinton a Niece, Vicky Knock, 3 nephews, Russell, Douglas, Kelly. 2 great-Nieces, Angie and Michelle, 3 great-nephews, Nathan, Ryan, and Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Alfred Ray and William Henry. Elmer
Adams was born January 17, 1931 at Hopkinton, Iowa. He was the son of Calvin Glen and Violet (Tharp) Adams. He received his education in the Hopkinton schools. He began working in the lawn care business. He also cleaned metals for Bacon Recycling and for Robert John Wilcox. He was a member of the First United Church of Hopkinton. He had been active, in his younger years, in the Men's Fellowship and Sunday School.
