DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Delmar M. Reittinger, 87, of Dyersville, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish rosary at 4:30 p.m.

He was born on Feb. 26, 1917, in Dyersville, son of Anton and Augusta (Braun) Reittinger.

Mr. Reittinger farmed northwest of Dyersville. He enjoyed raising wild animals.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Tom) Sassen, of Broomfield, Colo.; three grandchildren, Todd, Erin and Luke Sassen; four nieces, Doris Reth, Patricia Steger, Marilyn Sharp and Deb Mescher; three nephews, David, Richard and Donald Reittinger; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Reittinger, of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Emil Reittinger; three sisters, Helen Kramer, Thelma Clemens and Mae Louise Kroeger; a sister-in-law, Catherine Reittinger; three brothers-in-law, Ray Kramer, Lawrence Clemen and LaVern Kroeger; a nephew, Roger Reittinger; and a niece, Diane Clemens.
