DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Marvin W. Ostwinkle, 70, of Dyersville, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where a vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate.

Marvin was born on Feb. 14, 1943, in Dyersville, son of Alfred and Anna Mae (Digman) Ostwinkle. He graduated from Xavier High School with the class of 1961 and continued working on the family farm for the rest of his life.

Marvin loved to visit with people, especially at the sale barns and on his Sunday drives in the country, checking the crops. He also loved to watch football and baseball. Teasing his great nieces and nephews was a lot of mutual fun.

Survivors include his siblings, Leroy, Charles (Helen) and Paul (Kay) Ostwinkle, all of Dyersville; nieces and nephews, Cathy (Steve) Harvey, Cindy (friend, Jeremy Donohue) Ostwinkle, Terry (Tanya) Ostwinkle, Jenny (Charlie) White and Kristi (Tom) Coyle; and 14 great-nieces- and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
