Mrs. Donald J. (Hazel A.) Offermann, 53, 3164 Pasadena Court No. 15, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael's Cathedral. Following services, the remains will be cremated. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a St. Raphael's Cathedral Parish Christian wake service at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Offermann was born on March 25, 1945, in Dyersville, daughter of Elmer and Mary Jane (Schnieders) Maiers. She married Donald J. Offermann on Nov. 25, 1965, at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville.

She grew up in Dyersville, where she graduated from Xavier High School in 1963 and then attended the Pitzies Beauty & Cosmetology College in Waterloo.

She was currently employed as production manager for the Antique Trader Publication in Dubuque and previously worked for William C. Brown Publishing Co. and their Brown-Roa Division. She was also the owner and operator of Hazel's Antiques & Treasures. As a young woman she worked as a beautician in several Dyersville beauty salons.

She was a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral, World Wide Marriage Encounter, (she and her husband were a sponsor couple for engaged people), and a former C.C.D. instructor in Dyersville and Epworth.

Surviving are her husband, Donald J. Offermann; two daughters, Ann Marie (Boyd) Brown Jr., of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. and Mary Kay Offermann, of Eagan, Minn.; a grandson, Oliver Brown; her parents, Elmer and Mary Jane Maiers, of Dyersville; and a brother, Marvin (Vicki) Maiers, of Dyersville.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Barbara Maiers, in infancy.

A Hazel A. Offermann Memorial Fund has been established by her family.

The family requests no flowers.
