DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Henry G. Naber, 82, of 129 Fifth St. NW, Dyersville, passed into God's loving arms and his eternal home at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at his home, with his wife and loving family all around him.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Dyersville. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a wake service at 5 p.m. Friends also may also call after 8 a.m. Saturday.

Mr. Naber formerly farmed, worked at the Dr. Pepper Co. and the Goerdt Construction Co. He retired from Scherrman Implement Co.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1922, in Dyersville, son of Clemens and Ellanora (Kramer) Naber. He married Helen Kirpes Bell on Sept. 17, 1999, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville.

In his retirement, he enjoyed each and every bus trip with the "Fidelity Five Star Club." His other great pleasure in life was music and dancing, where he met Helen. That was the start of six wonderful years of marriage to the love of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Naber, of Dyersville; six children, Cathy (friend, Jack Barton) Sutter, of Dubuque, Judy (Marty) Simon, of Manchester, Nancy (Danny) Weber, of Tiffin, Dennis (Sandy) Bell, of Indianola, Kenneth (Sandy) Bell, of Wellsburg, and Janice (Mike) Johnson, of Georgetown, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Beth (Nick) Eby, Kelly (fiance, Todd Dighton) Simon, Katey Simon, Kimberly Johnson, Nathan Bell, John Bell, Aaron Bell, Katelin Johnson, Luke Bell, Sophia Bell and Olivia Bell; two great-grandchildren, Tayler and Jordon Eby; a brother, Frank Naber, of Dyersville; four sisters, Agnes (Jerry) Weber and Mary (Don) Weber, both of Hopkinton, Betty (Gene) Krapfl, of Earlville, and Anita Schaffer, of Manchester; and a brother-in-law, Louie Ernzen, of Dyersville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Jeanette Boge, Jane Ernzen and Elizabeth Naber; three half-sisters, Henrietta Westhoff, Alma Bennett and Del Goodrich; a half-brother, Leander Naber; and a nephew, Richard Naber.

Helen and children wish to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Mozena, Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Voelker, Dr. Baer, of the Wendt Center, and staff. To all the special people of Hospice of Dubuque who took such loving care of Hank. To a very special person, Shirley, thanks for all you did for "The Kids."
