Wayne J. Wilson, 69, of Manchester, Iowa, died Monday, July 13, 2009, at his residence in Manchester, following a brief illness.

Wayne John Wilson was born January 26, 1940, in Manchester, the son of Harold E. and Vida (Milroy) Wilson. Wayne attended and graduated from Delhi High School in 1957.

On June 18, 1961, Wayne was united in marriage to Janet Anne Hagensick in Edgewood. Two children were born to this union.

They farmed together in the Hopkinton, Delhi, and Buck Creek areas. From 1979 to 1989 they owned and operated the Delhi Tap. He retired from ATI in Delhi in 2007. Wayne had been a past member of the Delhi Fire Department. He loved wildlife, reading, watching movies-especially John Wayne. Wayne also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

His wife Janet Anne died on January 28, 2007.

Survivors include one daughter, Joanne (Jeff) Utter of Manchester; one son, Dennis (Cheryl) Wilson of Delhi; five grandchildren, Jared, Janna, and Jenna Utter and Wade and Wyatt Wilson; two sisters, Zona (Russell) McPhail of Waterloo, and Velma (Duke) Swanson of Manchester; one brother, Mahlon (Mary) Wilson of Delhi; his mother-in-law, Anita Hagensick of Edgewood; one sister-in-law, Mary Hagensick of Edgewood; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Janet Anne (Hagensick) Wilson.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. July 15, 2009 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home - Manchester, Iowa.

Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. July 16, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi, Iowa.

Interment: July 16, 2009 at Evergreen Cemetery - Delhi, Iowa.
