Constance Mary was born December 18, 1950, at Hatley, Wisconsin, to Elmer and Cornelia (Easker) Stefl. She graduated from the Manchester High School in 1969.
Connie was united in marriage to James Whitman in 1971. One daughter was born to this union. Together they lived in Manchester. Connie and James were later divorced. Connie continued to reside in Manchester. She was employed at the Arrow Café, Rockwell Collins, and the Good Neighbor Home.
Connie died Friday, June 12, 2009, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was fifty-eight years of age. She will be remembered as one who enjoyed flower gardening and bowling. Connie loved taking trips to Wisconsin to visiting her grandsons and her family.
Survivors included her daughter, Cherie (Tony) Sorensen of Wausau, Wisconsin; two grandsons, Mason and Austin Sorensen; her mother, Cornelia Stefl of Manchester; special friend of twenty-five years, Ron Ingles of Manchester; and four siblings, Sharon (Gary) Luebbe of Schofield, Wisconsin, JoAnn (John) Kopf of Center Point, Jim (Linda) Stefl of Osage, and Cindy (Greg) Long of Peosta; 14 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Stefl; grandparents, Philip and Anastasia Easker; and James and Francis Stefl; and a nephew, Sean Collis.
Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. June 17, 2009 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory - Manchester, Iowa. Scripture Service at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. June 18, 2009 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory - Manchester, Iowa. Friends may call one hour before service.
Interment: June 18, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery - Manchester, Iowa
