WILLIAM DYER DEAD
Former resident died in California July 13 [1907]. Came to Iowa in 1850.

Wm. Dyer uncle of Mrs. J.H. Limback, of this city, and at one time a resident of Dyersville, died at his late home in Carona [sic], California on Saturdasy [sic] July 13 at the age of 77 years. He will be remembered by the oldest settlers as having laid out Dyersville first addition to this city which is now part of the Moreland farm. He came to America in 1850 and settled in Dubuque where his first wife died the same year. In 1851 he was married to Anna Gadsden, sister of R. W. Gadsden of Dyersville. He then moved to Dyersville and located in the Foot farm east of town. He later came to town and engaged in the lumber business. His second wife died in 1858. He married his third wife Mary ____ [Richards] in 1860 in Dyersville. They moved west in 1887 and located in Carona, [sic] California, where he has been engaged in making of plasters and paints. His business was quite extensive. He is survived by his wife and two daughters and a son. He was a brother of Judge Dyer founder of Dyersville.
