Death Claims Mrs. A. Sellner
Esteemed Lady Passed Away At Earlville Thursday

Was Mother of Mrs. A. Siegel, of Dyersville.
Remains interred in St. Francis Cemetery.

Mrs. Anton Sellner, a pioneer of Delaware county, passed away at the home of her son, Mr. J. P. Sellner, last Thursday morning, September 5, 1912 at seven o'clock. Old age and the ailments tributary, thereof, caused the demise of this venerable old lady, who had reached the age of 81 years and 10 months.

Deceased's maiden name was Miss Mary Schaller and she was born, October 8, 1830, in Austria, Europe. She was married in the year 1855 to Mr. Anton Sellner. They came to this country the same year, remaining in the east for several years after which they moved westward, settling on a farm near New Vienna, where their resided until they purchased their farm near Earlville, where she resided to the time of her death. She is survived by four children, Joseph, of Earlville; Fred of Morten, Minnesota; Lizzie, now Mrs. Fred Duschnuer, Morten, Minnesota; Barbara, Mrs. A. Siegel, of Dyersville. She also leaves three sisters: Mrs. Garrett, of Earlville; Mrs. Fehlbauer and Mrs. Bonsteder, of West Bend, Ind., and twenty-four grand children and four great grand children. Her husband died thirty-three years ago.

Mrs. Sellner was a good Christian woman, kind and considerate to her family and friends. She was a devout Catholic all through her long and useful life, which she lived in accordance with its teachings. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in their irreparable loss.

The funeral was held Saturday morning to St. Francis church, where requiem mass was offered at 9:30 a. m., by Rev. Father Ambrosy, after which burial took place in the St. Francis cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs John Hildebrand, Geo. Hildebrand, John Hildebrand. Conrad Schmucker, Jos. Kern and Frank Lueck.
