H. Otley Beyer, one of the prominent young men of Edgewood, leaves this week for the Philippines where he has secured a position in the Provincial Department service where he has secured a salary of $1,200 a year and good prospects for promotion. He has also a commission from the Smithsonian Institute and the United States Museum to collect specimens of birds and mammals for them. He is under contract to remain two years and his many friends hope these years may be filled with success.
