Dunham-Parsons

The marriage of Dr. Harry Clifford Parsons, of Iowa City, and Miss Elva Marian Dunham took place last Thursday afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents, Capt. and Mrs. Abner Dunham, in this city, Rev. H. W. Tuttle, performing the ceremony. The home was decorated with, roses, palms and ferns. The bride was born in this city, a graduate of the high school here, and with the exception of the past four years, during which time she held the position of Superintendent of the State Homeopathic Hospital of Iowa City, this city has been her home. She is a highly educated and accomplished lady, is gracious in her manner, and numbers among her friends all who have the pleasure of forming her acquaintance.

The groom is a graduate of the medical department of the Iowa State University, and a young man of sterling worth.

Among the gifts presented to the bride and groom, was handsome silver set given the bride by the faculty of the State Homeopathic Hospital, as a token of the high esteem in which she is held by them.

The bride wore a white duck yachting suit, and the groom was attired in an outing suit. Immediately after the ceremony they were driven to a point south of this city known as “Wolf’s Gulley,” where they entered Dr. Parson’s canoe for a trip down the river to Burlington. From there they will go to Kansas City for a visit with Dr. Parson’s parents, and expect to be home in Mt. Vernon, Ia. after the 15th of July. The out of town guests were Miss Eva Parsons of Bates City, Missouri, Miss Daisy Dunham, of Iowa City, Mr. R. A. Dunham of Clarke, South Dakota, and Dr. Perry G. Ingersoll, of Toledo. The many friends here of the bride extend cordial congratulations.
