Democrat Radio - 12 March 1935

EDGEWOOD, Mar. 12, 1935.--The community was shocked to learn that Mrs. Mary A. Edmunds had met a violet death on Friday afternoon. It seems that Mrs. Edmunds went to Strawberry Point on the afternoon freight Friday. After alighting from the train when it reached the Point, she walked up ahead and stepped onto the track directly in front of an approaching engine. Men called to her but she paid no heed and was struck by the engine. One leg was cut off, an arm nearly amputated, and her head badly cut. She died almost instantly.
Mrs. Edmunds was the daughter of Albert O. Seward and Mary Annis Seward. She was born near Manchester on Feb. 14, 1872.
