SOLDIER BOYS HOMECOMING
(Ryan Reporter)The solider boy’s homecoming celebration held at the Lutheran church last Sunday afternoon drew a big crowd and proved a most pleasant and patriotic event. The boys, in full uniform, marched into church headed by a little miss carrying a large American flag, whom the program was carried out. Rev. Melchert delivered the address of welcome and paid a fitting tribute to the boys in khaki who went forth and did their share in fighting for the grand old flag and the freedom of nations. Rev. Willms, of Wayne, followed and gave a scholarly address full of patriotism and good cheer. The singing was a special feature of the occasion. The following is the honor list:
Walter Behnning, Carl Behnning., Fred Dierksen, William Scheer, Carl Warner, Oscar Melchert, Carl Witt, E. Reichen, John Voelker, Ernest Rodies, John Behnning, Ferdinand Dierksen, Tobe Poppe, John Warner, Herman Hawker, Henry Zimmerman, Carl Ammeter, William Nieman, William Zebuhr, Henry Meier.
