Clyde H. Doolittle
Representative from Delaware county, was born at Delhi, Iowa, March 1, 1894. Attended the public school at Delhi and the academy of Lenox college at Hopkinton, Iowa. Graduated from the law school of the State University of Iowa in June, 1921. In April, 1917, he volunteered for service in the world war and received a commission as second lieutenant in August and was assigned to Co. E 168th infantry, serving with that organization throughout the war. Was wounded in July, 1918, in the Champagne defensive and was twice promoted, being mustered out as captain of the company on June 2, 1919, after nineteen months' service in France and seven major operations. Married to Ruth Emery of Des Moines on September 1, 1917, and has one son, Clyde Heath, Jr. A member of the Masonic order and a Unitarian in religion. Elected representative in 1920.
